G.O.O.D. Ass Weekend

Ok, so apparently ticket giveaways have ended, but I still have to let you know. This weekend is gonna be BANANAS.

1. G.O.O.D. Fridays will definitely coming with heat.
2. Friday Night Lights will be dropping from Killa Cole

LAST and I dare say most importantly, Heineken Inspire is throwing a concert with NaS, Cee-Lo, Pete Rock, Diplo, Roxy Cottontail, and a Surprise guest. To be quite honest, if I didn't know any better I would think that this was even a G.O.O.D. music track collabo coordinated by Ye. I really cannot think of a better weekend in the fourth quarter for music!

FYI we're going to be getting on the fashion tip sooner than later, and we're starting out with these clean kicks that are a result of a Heineken and Gourmet collabo.

Freak 24/7

Never have I ever been ashamed to say that I am a fan of UK artists, Estelle, so when I heard that she had a new single alongside the T dot representative himself, Kardinal Offishall, I was fairly excited. The single off her upcoming album entitled Freak is definitely a refreshing club joint produced by David Guetta that reminds me of Diplo's Bingo Players. Regardless, you should definitely check it out and give it some time at your next party.

Dem Nuh Like it

The name's Jahdan, and you probably have heard him most recently on Diplo and Switch's Major Lazer LP, on the song Cash Flow. He's got a mixtape dropping soon entitled, Bazooka Shot, and an album, Buzzrock Warrior. From what I've heard thus far, these two project should be more than solid considering what I have heard. Enjoy Gasoline Dream's first post from the Caribbean!

Major Debut

Birthday shout out to DNN, and the late homie, Pac. On another note, today is the day for which many have been waiting. That new Dancehall sound with Diplo & Switch. Go cop Major Lazer today at the Mad Decent blog or even at it iTunes. Below is the video for the first single "Hold the Line" feat. Mr. Lexx & Santigold. It's out there, but maybe it'll bring you back to the 80's baby Saturday morning cartoons.

Guns Don't Kill People...Dancing Dehydrated Does

Alright, this weekend's gonna be bananas for myriad reasons, but since I'm not one to put all of my business out there, I'll give you one significant reason and that is Major Lazer. The Devious Duo is kicking off the North American tour in NYC tomorrow night. They jump started everything in Jamaica, but now these dudes are on the East Coast ready to pop off. I will be Inna Di Dancehall till the LP drops on June 16th. Lets get it!

Zumbie Video with Angry Andy

Major Lazer's second joint that is starting to catch on. One of my friends was playin this song at a party, and people were movin!...until they asked who it was, and he replied, "Andy Milonakis". At another joint the following day, he lied and told them it was Mr. Vegas and all was well for the rest of the night. All I've got to say people is DON'T FRONT. To give you more of background info, check this out from SOBs:

"Major Lazer draws from the rich dancehall tradition of Jamaica, and the futuristic dance-floor-killing aesthetic of Diplo and Switch. The sound is the result of global pop culture run through the filter of Major Lazer’s particular brand of 80’s-inspired digital dancehall... The story of Major Lazer is an interesting one. He has been described as a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War of 1984. He fights vampires and various monsters, parties hard, and has a rocket powered skateboard. He has enlisted the help of long-time allies and uber-producers, Diplo and Switch, to produce his first LP. "

Alright here's the DJ Edit made for the Original Hold the Line.

For all you DJs, they also made an acapella and instrumental for you to cut up and act a fool. Here's the link for that. That's exactly how Beatstreet conjured up his gem. Let me know what ya'll think.

Major Mash

Just the other day, the boy Beatstreet hit me up and gave me his own refix of Major Lazer's Hold The Line. He mashed it up with the song The Static Age off Green Day's latest album 21st Century Breakdown. Those of you who don't know, Major Lazer is a duo consisting of Switch and Diplo. The two artists who are equally talented as they are innovative have been indiscriminately flooding blog after blog as of late with their unique reggae/dance hall/electronica concoctions. I've been counting down for a while now, but finally we are less than a month away from it dropping on June 16th.

Anyway, this joint BANGS and I'll definitely have it on repeat as I travel around the Northeast for the summer. Check out the links on the side to visit Beatstreet's blog where you can find all types of music, and some of his exclusive Ramble mixes.

I'ma put up the original Hold The Line in a little bit.
